Jourdan Dunn for Vogue & StellaSport is Born
Jourdan's Vogue Cover
British super model Jourdan Dunn, the face of the Burberry spring/summer 2015 campaign, has scored another fashion milestone appearing on the cover of Vogue’s UK edition. Not only a career coup for any young model, Jourdan Dunn’s cover turn also makes her the first black model to appear on the UK publication in 12 years, following Naomi Campbell’s cover in 2002. In recent years British Vogue has faced criticism for the lack of ethnic diversity on its covers, particularly compared to its American counterpart.
StellaSport!
British designer Stella McCartney, a long term collaborator with German sportswear giant Adidas, is set to launch a younger, brasher and more affordable line with the company. The new line -StellaSport - is, according to the designer, targeting a girl from 15 through 19 who is “current and vibrant, looking to make a statement and stand out…”. The new line will share the luxury aesthetic of its sister brand, but inject it with neon pinks and blues with graphic logos featuring prominently. StellaSport will be available at Adidas.com, Nordstrom and Top Shop.
Gemma Ward Returns
Following a surprise appearance modeling for Prada’s runway show in Milan, Australian model Gemma Ward has fronted the Italian luxury houses latest spring/summer 2015 campaign, photographed in cool black and white by renowned photographer Steven Meisel. Gemma Ward, a iconic model and one of the dominant faces in fashion in the early 00s, had been on a six year hiatus. Insiders say that more than a one off appearance, this marks the models official return to the industry.
