Keeping Time with Fendi
Italian luxury house Fendi is to take over over the production of its timepieces after acquiring the final stake in its watch licensee, Swiss company Taramax. Fendi’s President and CEO told Italian weekly Moda24 that the decision was born from the desire to “change the brand’s course,” adding that the timepiece category had significantly boosted prestige and revenue. The result of the takeover is the creation of a specific division, Fendi Timepieces, to be headed by Dominic Oliveri.
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin split
American actress and food writer Gwyneth Paltrow has released a statement announcing that she had her husband Chris Martin, frontman of mega-band Coldplay, were separating after 10 years of marriage. In the statement she said "It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate”. The previous week she had thanked her fans and supporters for their words of support on her lifestyle website “Goop” in the postscript of a chicken recipe.
The Ethisphere Institute 2014 Award Winners
The Ethisphere Institute, a management consulting firm and independent research organization that “promotes [the] best practices in corporate ethics and compliance”, has officially released its eighth annual list of the worlds most ethical companies. The 2014 edition is comprised of 144 companies representing 41 industries with companies scored in five categories: ethics and compliance; reputation, leadership, and innovation; governance; corporate citizenship and responsibility; and the culture of ethics. Three apparel companies were honored with the first place award going to Gap Inc, second place to H&M and third place to Levi Strauss & Co.
