Brian Lichtenberg pulled out a fierce collection for his show at New York Fashion Week. Brian Lichtenberg is an LA-based designer specializing in contemporary women’s and men’s apparel drawing inspiration from music, color, shapes and textures. His designs often incorporate a cheeky sense of humor in pop-driven concept. Among the high profile models who were seen wearing his clothes in between shows were Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn. The designer, who is well known for his Homies and Feline sweaters, brought out 24 distinct looks of punk rock chic street wear in monochromatic tones of blue, black and white for his Spring 2014 collection. The models’ look for the show was bold and strong, definitely complementing each stylish and modern looks of the collection. They sported a stern eye make-up by in shades of black, gray and plum, with highlights near the lash-lines and tear ducts. Their lips were painted in matte scarlet matching off with bare skin and muted cheeks. Models stood on top of an “L” shaped stage set against a chain-link fence at Pier 59 Studios showing off sheer fabrics mixed with leather and lace. The combination gave a good texture for his crop tops, mini dresses and distressed jeans. His well known graphics were also apparent in a neoprene dress that gives off this strong look. “This will be my first time showing in NY, so I really wanted to focus on my ‘ready to wear roots,’” said Lichtenberg. “I have always loved the cross collision of high with low, street with luxury, downtown with uptown and with this collection I was very inspired by those moments.” Among the celebrities who came to the show included heiress Nicky Hilton and blogger and television personality Perez Hilton, who stood near the stage reporting and supporting the designer.
