Day 3 of Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane 2013
First show on day 3 of the MBFF 2013 featured designers from the Brisbane Arcade Group including Maiocchi, Tengdahl, The Hat Box, Pia di Pradal and Darb Couture. Opening the show was the very upbeat, bright and colourful prints from Maiocchi - accompanied with big floral headpieces and models beaming. Tengdahl brought some drama with their knee high black socks and black patent high heels to work well with their luxurious silky monochromes that flowed down the runway. Most were impressed with The Hat Box collection showcased this year with their exquisite millinery, bright colours and avant garde designs finishing with the most spectacular gold and silver goddess inspired pieces. The highlight of the show was the very talented Brad Webb from Darb Couture. His original take on old school charm and elegance seduced the audience with every model that appeared on the runway. The finale was a beautiful dove grey strapless gown with a bunch of pearl oversized helium balloons which just added that element of surrealism.
I followed the fashion outside and caught up with some stylish guests including the dapper mark Ferguson from the Wil Valor Brisbane menswear label who is showcasing at MBFF tomorrow night.
Haha, got Peter!
In between shows, I decided to take a walk around and fell in love with these three entrants from the Emerging Designer Competition. Love the futuristic feel.
The second show for the evening featured Adorne with their statement jewellery pieces and colourful wardrobe to contrast perfectly. Lalabazaar was my favourite with their take on sport luxe and sleek tailoring paired with on trend fashion forward accessories. Other designers included a varied range of boho chic from White Label Noba's opening pieces through to the minimalist and non conventional designs from Dmoore, Pure Moda, DA by Daniel Alexander, Sasha Drake and Katelyn Aslett showcased a more sophisticated range of looks.
