Fashion One presents: Key designers from Sao Paulo Fashion Week
For four days, 20 Brazilian brands paraded at the 34th edition of the Sao Paulo Fashion Week. Young labels or recognized designers, all tried to attract the eye of buyers and the press. Among those impossible to miss, include Alexandre Herchcovitch. Established for 18 years and also showing at New York, the designer originally from Sao Paulo places an honor to present shows each year of a high quality. His new collection for winter 2013 revolves around the dress and skirt made in crepe, georgette silk or duchess satin. Not to forget the stripes, a big trend for 2013, worked on several outfits. We also find these stripes elsewhere, at Vitorino Campos. In contrast to Herchcovitch, Vitorino presents only his second collection at Sao Paulo. Aged 24, he stands out as the designer to watch out for a play on volume and blends of silk and metal. Finally, Reinaldo Laurenço chose a static display that marked the spirits. The designer manages to evolve from season to season even after 20 years. Very urban looks composed of suits, miniskirts, dresses and sweaters, creating a modern look while the additions of lace, tapestry prints, and bright colours highlight a biased kitsch that's rather successful.
