Perth Fashion Festival – WA Designer Collection

Thirteen of Perth’s most talented designers took to the floor of the WA museum to showcase their latest looks, eager spectators wowed by the display of diversity at the WA Designer Collections. Amongst the bunch some better known and much loved labels such as Ange Lang, last year’s Designer of Tomorrow winner, Betty Tran who has just returned from showcasing in New York and about to open a first flagship store in the new Raine Square shopping precinct and Little Gracie and Peppermint Milk who both sent tongue’s wagging with their cute vintage inspired collections of flowing floral, pastel, plenty of ruffles. Other standouts included Alushia Sanchia, Anna Excell and Wild Horses who all hit the Fashion Paramount runway with an explosion of colour, Alushia Sanchia a highlight with impressive tribal inspired print and structure. Opening designer of the evening Shelly Tindale’s label Tindale set the standard with her collection ‘Arcane’. Teaming stunning draped dressed with well-tailored leather jackets and hand knitted chain, her inspiration behind the collection “a warrior’s silhouette” apparent in her strong architectural style. Other labels who took to Fashion Paramount included On a Whim, Catini Designs, Martini + Coz and Neleh & Heath who all contributed their own charm to the visual frenzy. WA Designer Collections without a doubt demonstrating the immense talent and diversity amongst the local and emerging design scene here with the huge array of creative homegrown talent coming out of Perth, Western Australia.
